SUMMARY:VSE Annual Conference 2019: Victim Recovery – A Road of Many Routes
DESCRIPTION:We are excited to announce that this year’s VSE Annual Conference “Victim Recovery: a Road of Many Routes” will take place on 12-13 June 2019 in Strasbourg and will be kindly hosted by our member “France Victimes”. \nThe conference is an opportunity to discuss the different routes victims can take to reach recovery and resilience. Some innovative ways have been developed for victims to get justice\, and several paths can be followed by a victim to reach support and recovery. The event will be the occasion to exchange best practices and experiences related to the many forms support can get and how it is provided to victims. \nThis year’s edition will feature three traditional plenary sessions and one interactive plenary session\, which follows a two-way\, conversational format – a particularly engaging way to deliver content to the audience. \nPlenary I – Discussion panel: New approaches to Justice \nPlenary II: What are the routes to support? \nPlenary III: What are the routes to recovery? \nPlenary IV – Interactive plenary: Achieving a high quality of support \nMore details and registration will come soon.

DESCRIPTION:This year’s event will be held at the Portuguese Permanent Representation to the European Union on the 20 November in Brussels\, with the pre-conference VSE General Meeting and workshop (for members only) on the 19th of November. \nThe theme of this year’s edition is ‘Victims’ Rights: Time to Act’ which will be the opportunity to discuss the current status of implementation of the EU Victims’ Directive but\, more importantly\, on providing a mapping of common gaps which indicate the need for improvement in all Member States. \nThe full-day conference programme will be followed by a fundraising gala event at the vintage car museum – Autoworld Brussels. \nSee the Programme. \nSee Speakers’ Biographies. \nWe hope to see you in Brussels in November!
