We have had a number of events and some changes have been made in Victim Support Denmark in the past 8 months. In February, we hosted a major conference at Christiansborg – the Danish parliament – focusing on the subjects “victims of cybercrime and victims of terror”. At the conference, the Danish Minister of Justice participated in addition to a few other Danish politicians, the Danish police, relevant professionals, victims from home and abroad and a lot of volunteers. Levent Altan from VSE participated with a presentation like our Nordic friends also participated. It was a very successful conference. In the days leading up to the conference, meetings were held with the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other important cooperation partners. Thanks to Levent for participating here too.
Nordic Meeting 2018
After the conference, we hosted a Nordic meeting, where we discussed the future of cooperation between the Nordic countries and heard about the exciting structural changes that have taken place in Norway.
OID General Meeting 2018
At our General meeting in April, we said goodbye to our chairman Else Marie Buck and our vice-chairman, Knut Arild Gulbrandsen, was elected as new chairman of our organization. We know that many of you have met and collaborated with Else Marie Buck and we thank for the great commitment, work and development she has put into our organization.
The new board continues the fine work and has in recent months worked on new strategies and focus areas in both the judicial area, SoMe, communication and visibility.
A visit from Germany
In June, we received a visit from a delegation of organizations from Germany who participated in the “Paritätischer Landesverband Berlin”. An exciting and rewarding visit where knowledge and experience were shared.
After a long and very hot summer in Denmark we are now ready for a busy autumn.
