Victim Support Europe works in several ways to help victims of crime across Europe.
- We carry out advocacy work on victims’ rights, develop policies and monitor rights at the national level.
- We help national organisations improve their ability to support victims through training and to develop their own capacity to help victims through training and workshops, and the provision of advice on European laws.
- We help direct victims to their local victim support organisations and we help co-ordinate support services for individuals who fall victim to crime outside their home country.
There’s much to do, and much more we’d love to do!. But we need YOUR support. Whether you only have a few minutes, whether you have specialist knowledge and skills, or whether you can donate €1 or €1000, you can help us make a real difference:
Membership of VSE is open to all organisations and all individuals in Europe and beyond. Depending on the type of organisation you belong to, you can join either as a Full or Associate Member; or if you are an individual, you can become a Supporter of VSE. Your membership enables VSE grow in strength and expertise and will allow you to access to a wide range of services as well as an extensive victim-centric network.
While Victim Support Europe is largely funded by the European Commission and by Membership fees, which allows us to make progress on victims’ rights, there is still more that we can do to improve victims’ access to justice across Europe. With your help as a donor we can drive change, improve our services, and deliver new projects!
Your gift is much appreciated and will be used to advocate for victim support.
Whether you have a few minutes or a few hours, or can work with us regularly, every moment helps, and we’d love to hear from you. We need your help with translation, news monitoring, media campaigns, new projects, developing technologies for victims, creating videos or photos; your experience and specialisation can help support our HQ staff and improve the way we support victims. With your input, we can make a difference to victims’ lives!
VSE’s internship programme offers a wide range of opportunities for students and recent graduates who are looking to work both in an NGO and in the field of victims’ rights. An internship with VSE’s head office in Brussels is a 6-month, full-time, paid position.
VSE welcomes applications for open positions and spontaneous inquiries; applications are considered on a rolling basis. Send your CV + motivational letter to recruitment@victimsupporteurope.eu
We have 80 member organisations supporting victims of crime at a national or local level across 35 countries. Without the help of volunteers, many of our members would not be able to offer their services. Your local victim support service or victim helpline would love to hear from you; if you can dedicate some of your time, please reach out and:
