Council Directive 2000/43/EC of 29 June 2000 implementing the principle of equal treatment between persons irrespective of racial or ethnic origin

This Directive aims to combat discrimination on the grounds of racial or ethnic origin. It lays down minimum requirements for implementing the principle of equal treatment between persons in the European Union. By discouraging discrimination, this Directive should help to increase participation in economic and social life and reduce social exclusion.
