Ireena Schmidt
Having originally studied jewellery design and manufacture, Ireena spent almost a decade working in the jewellery industry in South Africa.
She later took the decision to change course professionally, obtaining a certificate in both Terrorism Studies and Criminology. The latter led her to enrol in a BA (Hons) Criminology and Criminal Justice course at the University of Essex, where her dissertation focused on Child Sex Tourism in South Africa and Madagascar.
She started volunteering at VSE in June 2022, becoming a Project Assistant in November 2022.
