Overview of the activities of White Circle Croatia

In recent period, VSE member White Circle Croatia held two public forums, in Solin and Omis, boht as part of ongoing projects.
As part of the European Victims’ Day White Circle Croatia have participated in a round table in Zagreb which was organized by Documenta who is leader of a joint project which started in January 2017. – “The rights, support, protection and compensation of victims of criminal offenses”.  Other partners are Center for Peace and Nonviolence from Osijek and Croatian Victim and Witness Support Service (VWSS) from Vukovar.
The project is related to the monitoring exercise of the rights of victims in criminal and misdemeanor proceedings which is directly related to the implementation of EU Directive 2012/29 / EU on establishing minimum standards for the rights, support and protection of victims of crime.
As for the adsptstion of Croatian legislation with the EU, and among other things, with the EU Directive 2012/29 / EU on establishing minimum standards on the rights, support and protection of victims of crime, right now in the Parliament are amendments to the Law on Criminal Procedure, which clearly defines the status of the victim and further strengthen their rights.
