Call for Submissions
VSE Spring Newsletter 2020: Special Covid-19 Edition

How have victim support services responded to the crisis resulting from the coronavirus pandemic? In what way did they get creative to manage the COVID-19 crisis?

Submission deadline: May 17, 2020

With the COVID-19 crisis, we have entered drastic times that require innovative and radical solutions. While taking up the challenge, victim support services across the globe have been breaking barriers and collaborating to address the COVID-19 crisis and support global social well-being.

To multiply the efforts and replicate success, as a victim support community we need to learn how these spontaneous and mission-driven engagements have enabled us to overcome barriers and which support structures were deemed necessary enabling the external engagements in a response to and as a result of COVID-19.

It is for this reason that we invite you to respond to this special call for sharing your experiences in using new technologies and novel collaboration techniques to tackle COVID-19 related challenges. Not limited to the field of victim support services alone, but spanning across all industry sectors and disciplines, ranging from AI, data science, healthcare, engineering to training and education.

Your submission may include the following aspects:

– How did frontline victim support services adapt and succeed in providing much needed assistance to the vulnerable?
– Examples of quick action to support victims of violence and cyber crime victims during the pandemic
– Using technology in crisis response
– Interviewing, hiring, and onboarding during COVID-19
– Updates on the crisis

We are looking to receive your abstracts via the button ‘Submit Your News’ on our Intranet’s homepage by Sunday, May 17, 2020.

Selected cases will be invited to be speakers at the VSE’s Online Leader’s Event in Summer 2020. All the cases will be published in the VSE’s Spring Newsletter.
