The number of clients at Victim Support Finland (RIKU) has been rising for many years. This year from January to the end of June the total number of clients were 12 140 indicating a rise of 6 %. In the 116 006 helpline the number of clients during the first 6 months of this year was almost 1700 with a rise of 64 % compared to the same period last year. During the covid-19 pandemic the number of clients luckily did not drop even if many victims seem to have had challenges in reaching support services.

Victim Support Finland releases a new 116 006 video

In May, Victim Support Finland (RIKU) released a new video to raise awareness of the new opening hours of the 116 006 helpline. The video was released both in Finnish and in Swedish. During one week in August, the videos were shown for free on the TV channels of YLE, the Finnish public service broadcasting company.
