Praise for Victim Support Russia on 15th anniversary

By December 15, 2020News

Our member, Victim Support Russia, headed by the known Russian human rights activist Olga Kostina, is celebrating its 15th anniversary today. Our congratulations to the team for the success they have achieved over the last decades to adapt services to the needs of those affected by crime.

In the past few years Victim Support Russia have launched several projects aimed at strengthening and expanding crime victims’ rights, including developing and conducting the first ever national victimisation survey, which has produced valuable scientific and practical results; providing legal assistance to and support for elderly victims of crime and violence (they plan to continue and expand this project and its reach); cooperating with the Academy of Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation to integrate victim assistance into broader national policies and legal frameworks.

Despite the challenges, the resilience and dedication of your team has provided a guiding light to many victims.

We are confident that Victim Support Russia are in a better position now to tackle whatever the next 15 years bring.
