On the occasion of the International Women’s Day, Victim Support Europe highlights the importance of ensuring prevention, protection and access to justice for all victims of violence against women and girls.
The European Commission, including Commissioner for Equality Helena Dalli, has reiterated its commitment to prevent and combat violence against women and girls across the European Union. Victim Support Europe gladly joined an important message by the Commissioner, to which our very own Deputy Director Aleksandra Ivankovic contributed as well.
Today, the Commission is launching its legislative proposal on violence against women and domestic violence. Victim Support Europe welcomes this initiative which we hope will deliver to women in the EU what they deserve and are entitled to – respect, dignity and equality.
We will publish our reaction to the proposal in the coming days.
