During her recent visit to Montenegro, Aleksandra Ivanković, Deputy Director of Victim Support Europe, appeared in national media to discuss the situation of victims of crime and the importance of strong, victim-centred support systems.

Ms Ivanković joined RTCG’s morning programme Dobro jutro Crna Goro, where she spoke about the real needs of victims and how institutions and support services can respond more effectively — both within and beyond criminal proceedings. The discussion highlighted the importance of accessible, coordinated, and trauma-informed support tailored to victims’ individual needs.

In the interview, she highlighted the need for coordinated services, specialised support structures, and trained professionals who can provide practical, emotional, and legal assistance to victims. “Victims are at the centre of justice, and their needs must guide the development of policies and services,” Ivanković stated.
