Integrating Victim-Centred Practices Across the Large-Scale Event Cycle: Responding to Mass Victimisation and Terrorism
On the European Remembrance Day for Victims of Terrorism, we are proud to announce the publication of our new paper, developed in collaboration between Victim Support Europe (VSE) and the International Network Supporting Victims of Terrorism and Mass Violence (INVICTM).
This new publication explores how a holistic, rights-based, victim-centred approach can be integrated into the planning of large-scale events, placing individuals at the core of emergency preparedness.
Aiming to strengthen institutional readiness to respond humanely to terrorist attacks and mass victimisation incidents, the paper focuses on understanding the impact of terrorist victimisation on individuals and their needs, and operationalising a victim-centred framework in large-scale events.
A must-read for policymakers, event organisers, and victim support professionals.
