Building Mobile Networks to Assist Trafficking Victims: The REACHing Project

Human trafficking remains one of the most urgent human rights violations in Europe, affecting thousands of vulnerable people each year. Survivors often struggle to access protection, assistance, and safe pathways to rebuild their lives.

A new initiative – European project REACHing – is tackling this challenge by deploying a network of mobile teams of expert social workers to improve the identification, assistance, and protection of trafficking victims in Italy, France, and Greece.

Through direct interventions in reception centers, integration programs, and registration platforms, REACHing enhances the capacity of social workers and strengthens international cooperation.

The approach is rooted in international cooperation and knowledge-sharing. By exchanging good practices with partners in transit countries like Niger, and organizing study visits, the initiative strengthens a coordinated, global response to trafficking.

Over 5,000 people – including survivors, frontline workers, and communities – are expected to benefit through training, assistance, and awareness-raising activities. The ultimate goal: a model that can be replicated across Europe to protect the rights and dignity of trafficking survivors.

Discover the ASIT campaign: working together to protect victims of trafficking

Human trafficking is a crime that hides in the most unexpected places: in workplaces, on the streets, even online. It often affects vulnerable people who are unable to make their voices heard.

For this reason, the ASIT project Adequate Support Measures and Improved Capacities in Countering Trafficking in Human Beings , has launched an awareness campaign with a series of videos dedicated to various key sectors: employers, frontline workers, law enforcement, digital professionals, and legislators.

Each video explains how to recognize the signs of exploitation and how to act to protect victims.

The goal is to promote a victim-centered approach, strengthen cooperation between different actors, and build a more aware and responsive society.

Awareness is the first step. Watching these videos means being part of a collective commitment to ensure protection, dignity, and justice for those who suffer from trafficking.

Working on Mental Fitness to Prevent Violence and Discrimination in Sport 🚸

Violence and discrimination grow where stress, inequality, and exclusion are left unchecked. We believe that prevention starts with building healthier environments for children and young people. This is the vision behind MINDFIT: promoting mental well-being, supporting young people through sport, and working hand in hand with psychologists to create safe, inclusive spaces where respect comes first.

Sports fields and classrooms are not only places for learning and growth: they can also become powerful spaces for preventing violence and discrimination. Training coaches, teachers, and families to support mental fitness helps young athletes build resilience, respect diversity, and challenge harmful behaviors before they escalate.

Together, we can cultivate healthier communities where every child feels safe, included, and empowered.

Building Safe Spaces for Children and Young Adults💜

When young people feel supported, they find the strength to break cycles of violence and build healthier futures.

With BOTTOM-UP TALKS, we believe that support is the most powerful tool to create real change.
Starting this November, the project will open dedicated Counselling Desks led by professional psychologists, available both in schools and in community spaces across Italy, Greece, Cyprus, Lithuania, and France.

These safe and confidential spaces are designed to:

  • • provide psychological support to young people,
  • • address gender-based violence and unhealthy relationships,
  • • promote mental health and well-being.

By listening, supporting, and empowering young people, we aim to create communities where everyone feels safe, respected, and valued.
