Autumn news Victim support Denmark
Despite minor local Corona outbreaks in recent months, we have resumed our activities.
We again offer “face to face” meetings with the victims, just as our training courses, theme days and other meetings have been resumed. This autumn, in addition to our basic training for new volunteers, we will also offer supervision training for experienced counsellors and, as something completely new, emergency training, which will equip our volunteers further for tasks in connection with major incidents and possibly terror. We look forward to gaining experience and working further with the development and quality improvement of our offers.
After an expected drop in inquiries from victims during the Corona crisis, we can see an incipient increase in inquiries. During the autumn we plan a small campaign, which is primarily aimed at our partners, police, hospital, and fire brigade, so they remember to refer victims to Victim Support Denmark.
In collaboration with one of the Danish universities and the National Police, our cooperation with the local police districts must be evaluated. It will be an exciting process and we hope to be able to share best practice and experiences, so that the cooperation between the police and Victim Support Denmark will be even better.
We have received funding for a 2½ year visibility project, including the employment of a communications employee. The project and employment will begin on 1 January 2021. We look forward to getting started with the project and increasing knowledge and visibility of Victim Support Denmark and our offers.
