Victim Support Denmark During the Pandemic: “Being Together Apart”

In Denmark, throughout the Corona crisis, our Victim Support has continued to offer telephone counseling 24/7.

On our social media, we have had a special focus on issues such as violence in close relationships and cybercrime, and here we have both tried to prevent, inform and refer to organisations that can support victims of these types of crime.

Both within and outside our organization various digital platforms have been used for meetings and ways of “being together apart”. We anticipate that the increased use of digital platforms will continue in the future.

We have had to set all educational courses, theme days, etc. on pause. We expect to start up again in mid-June. Our general meeting has been converted to a “desk general meeting”, since we cannot yet meet in larger meetings.

We are very much looking forward to more of our activities being resumed and we will be able to meet physically again with the victims and with our members for activities in the organization.

In general, Denmark is undergoing a slow and controlled reopening of the country. We only have a moderate number of infected and ill citizens, and our health system is not overloaded.
