On 25 February, FEMM and LIBE adopted the compromise text in a joint meeting, showing strong support for the revised Directive. This follows the political agreement reached on 10 December 2025 between Parliament and Council.
The Directive now awaits formal adoption by both institutions. The Council’s Permanent Representatives Committee has already endorsed the final compromise text and indicated it will approve Parliament’s position if adopted at first reading.
Overall, the revised text introduces strengthened standards and improved protections.
