Victim Support Europe Team Takes on the Brussels 20km: 33 Runners, One Mission – Taking Steps Together for Victims
On 31 May 2026, Victim Support Europe proudly participated in the iconic Brussels 20km for the very first time, bringing together an incredible team of 33 runners and walkers united by one common goal: standing with victims of crime.
Among the tens of thousands of participants who filled the streets of Brussels with energy and determination, Team VSE proudly ran and walked to raise awareness of victims’ rights and to support the work of our dedicated Victim Care Team.
This first edition was a remarkable success. Together, our team raised more than €1240.08 with every donation helping to strengthen our Victim Care Team, which provides reliable information, guidance, and referrals to victims seeking support across Europe. Every year, more than 300 victims contact Victim Support Europe directly for assistance, while through our network of members we help support more than five million victims of crime annually across Europe, and beyond. Our participation in the Brussels 20km helped shine a spotlight on this important work while bringing together colleagues, friends, family members, partners, and supporters around a shared cause.
The day itself was filled with enthusiasm, team spirit, and determination. Wearing Victim Support Europe colours, our participants joined thousands of runners making their way through the streets of Brussels, proving that sport can be a powerful way to inspire solidarity and raise awareness for important social causes.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who joined VSE Team, donated to our campaign, cheered from the sidelines, or helped spread the word. A special thank you goes to our sponsors Issured Limited, Bâti-Check, and Maisons Clothes by Graphibe, whose generous support made our participation possible.
This initiative was about much more than completing 20 kilometres. It was about showing victims of crime that they are not alone. Every step taken by our participants represented our shared commitment to ensuring that victims receive the support, information, and protection they deserve.
We are incredibly proud of everyone who took part and grateful to all those who contributed to making this first edition such a success. Judging by the enthusiasm of our team, this is only the beginning.
