We are happy and proud to see our member, The Portuguese Association for Victim Support (APAV), being awarded the Gulbenkian Prize in the area of Cohesion in 2019 for its work in the area of violence against vulnerable groups.
The Prize was presented to the President of APAV João Lázaro by Isabel Mota, the President of Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation, and President of the Portuguese Republic Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa.
With this Prize, the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation is bringing the world’s attention to the rights of millions of victims of crimes around the world, and particularly in Portugal.
The award acknowledges the outstanding, nearly three-decade work of APAV with and for the victims of crime and violence.
Our heartfelt congratulations to APAV’s team with this important achievement!
