đź“… Save the Date:Â
🔹Friday 13 June 2025, h10.00-13.00 (CET) – VSE: The Victims’ Rights Directive: Challenges and Opportunities for Litigating the Rights of Persons with Disabilities
📝 Spotlight on VSE’s Session: Â
Moderated by Aleksandra Ivankovic, Deputy Director of Victim Support Europe, the webinar will feature interventions by policy experts, legal practitioners and self-advocates, who will dive into innovative strategies to push for systemic change for persons with disabilities. Â
In light of the recast Victims’ Rights Directive, the webinar will explore the evolving policy and legal landscape for victims with disabilities, highlighting its potential to strengthen procedural and substantive rights. Speakers will draw attention on the critical need for multi-stakeholder cooperation – including NGOs, legal practitioners, national authorities, and victim support organisations – in bringing cases before the courts. Such collaboration is essential to ensure a victim-centred approach in transposing EU laws that uphold the rights of persons with disabilities, bridging the gap between legislation and real-life enforcement. Â
👥 Who can participate in this webinar series? The webinar is open to anyone with an interest in strategic litigation for persons with disabilities, and it could prove especially insightful for lawyers, NGOs, organisations of Persons with Disabilities, civil society, and victim support organisations.Â
