Hungarian Labour Inspectors Trained to Identify Human Trafficking Victims in Groundbreaking Sensitisation Workshop

On 3rd Apr 2025, the Department of Employment Supervision Management of the Ministry of National Economy (Hungary) held a sensitisation training on human trafficking for labour inspectors of the capital and counties.

The sensitisation training was attended by nearly 40 labour inspectors. The aim of the training was to prepare the labour inspectors to identify victims of labour exploitation.

During the training, Dr. Szandra Windt, a senior researcher of the National Institute of Criminology, gave presentations on the criminological characteristics of human trafficking and on the INVERT project, Katalin Kopf, head of the Opportunity for Families 2005 Foundation, on practical experiences with victims of human trafficking, and Ildikó Kelemen, a staff member of the Győr-Moson-Sopron County Government Office, gave a presentation on an instructive legal case. The training was a great success, providing the labour inspectors with a wealth of new information that they can use in their employment inspections
