Victim Support England and Wales Expands Online Tools and Resources for Victims
Marking five years of their online resource My Support Space, Victim Support England and Wales have launched a new series of guides on the platform designed to support victims of crime. These additions cover a wide range of topics, including antisocial behaviour, indecent exposure, and help giving evidence in court.
Since its launch in April 2020, over 30,000 people have benefitted from using My Support Space. The specialist online resource helps victims to manage the impact that crime has had on them. It helps them to feel more informed after crime, to reflect on their feelings, and provides simple tips to aid them in supporting themselves.
The platform features a collection of interactive, self-guided resources that users can explore at their own pace.
These include:
✅ Clear, accessible information about specific crimes
✅ Practical tips to support mental health and wellbeing
✅ Guidance on victims’ rights
✅ Direct access to Victim Support’s 24/7 live chat service
✅ Opportunities to use SilverCloud, an online therapy platform
These new resources sit alongside over 60 other guides for victims and witnesses, with topics such as domestic abuse, rape and sexual assault, and stalking among the most frequently accessed.
My Support Space is available at www.mysupportspace.org.uk and can also be downloaded as an app for IOS phones or Android phones.
