
Victim Support Europe welcomes the opportunity to contribute to the EU’s first comprehensive Anti-Racism Strategy. While progress has been made, racism and racial discrimination remain widespread across the EU. Racialised individuals continue to face barriers to justice, protection, and support—often going unheard and underserved.
We call for a renewed, victim-centred approach that places the rights and needs of victims of racist violence and discrimination at the heart of EU action. The next strategy must address systemic inequalities, ensure access to justice, and invest in inclusive victim support services that are trauma-informed, community-based, and resilient.
With growing polarisation, disinformation, and hate-fuelled violence, coordinated action is needed more than ever. It’s time to ensure no victim is left behind—and that their voices help shape a more inclusive, just, and anti-racist Europe.
