Senior Project Officer

Maria Georgiou joined VSE as Senior Project Officer in 2022. She is responsible for overseeing the delivery of different projects and the development of new project proposals.

Maria has been closely involved with global inequality issues for more than a decade. Before joining VSE, she worked on projects that supported the resilience of refugees, displaced persons and migrants in Cyprus. Prior to that, she served as a project coordinator for an NGO in Cyprus where she co-developed and implemented projects on democracy, food security, peace, cybersecurity and citizen-oriented governance. She holds a BSc in Sociology from Panteion University in Greece, specialising in Criminology.
