Global Anti-Scam Alliance Summit 

Victim Support Europes’s Levent Altan and Carmen Rasquete participated in the Global Anti-Scam Alliance Summit  (8th-10th June) in Portugal, joining experts, policymakers, law enforcement, industry representatives and civil society organisations to discuss responses to digitally enabled scams and online fraud. VSE brought a victim-centred perspective to the discussions, highlighting the emotional, psychological and financial impacts of scams, and the need to ensure that victims can access effective support, protection and justice. 

VSE contributed to discussions on tackling the growing threat of digitally-enabled scams and online fraud.  The summit provided an important platform to discuss emerging trends, prevention strategies, and the support needed for those affected. VSE was pleased to contribute a victim-centred perspective, highlighting the significant emotional, psychological, and financial impacts scams can have on victims and the importance of ensuring access to effective support and justice.
