Save the Date: European Parliament joint policy conference by Victim Support Europe and MEP Maria Noichl
The December policy meeting will be taking place in the European Parliament under the title: The Law Has Changed. Will Every Victim Feel the Difference? Turning Europe’s commitments into action. A shared responsibility for every institution.
Date: 1 December 2026
Location: European Parliament
Time: 12:30 – 14:30 CET
Format: In-person
Over recent years, the EU has made significant progress in strengthening the legal framework for victims of crime. Yet, despite important legislative developments, many victims across Europe continue to face barriers in accessing information, protection, support services, justice and compensation. The recognition of rights in law does not always translate into their realisation in practice.
On 1 December 2026, Victim Support Europe and MEP Maria Noichl will host a joint policy conference at the European Parliament in Brussels, bringing together Members of the European Parliament, policymakers, frontline practitioners and victims themselves to examine the persistent gaps between legislative commitments and victims’ everyday experiences.
Building on recent EU policy developments and successful initiatives across Member States, the event will explore how political commitment, effective implementation and investment in accessible, well-resourced victim support services can help ensure that every victim receives the support they need, regardless of who they are, where they live or the crime they have experienced.
Victims’ rights must be more than commitments on paper. They must be a reality for everyone. Join us in exploring how we can work together to ensure that no victim is left behind.
