2026 Victims’ Rights Symposium at Eurojust

Victim Support Europe’s Anthi Materi attended the Victims’ Rights Symposium at Eurojust (19th-20th May) in the Hague, which brought together judges, prosecutors, practitioners and experts from across the EU and beyond. The event offered an important opportunity to exchange good practices and strengthen cooperation between justice actors and victim support services. VSE used the occasion to underline the importance of justice systems that are accessible, trauma-informed and genuinely centred on victims’ needs and experiences. VSE remains committed to advocating for justice systems that are accessible, trauma-informed and genuinely victim-centred, ensuring that victims’ rights are protected not only in law, but also in practice.
