Target Audience: Social workers, civil society representatives, educators and stakeholders involved in human trafficking, particularly those working in contexts where the risks of youth trafficking in a digital space are prevalent. The event is also relevant for professionals interested in improving their awareness and victim-centric response strategies to combat trafficking in human beings in digital settings.

 

Description:

This webinar, organised under the DISRUPT project, focuses on the critical issue of (youth) trafficking for sexual purposes within digital environments. The event aims to equip professionals with the necessary knowledge and tools to gain a better understanding of trafficking in a digital context, as well as how to respond through a victim-centric approach. The session will delve into the impact of trafficking on youth victims, the methods commonly employed by traffickers, and strategies for responding through a victim-centric way.

The webinar will feature presentations from speakers with various backgrounds, including medical, academic and victim support perspectives. The event will conclude with a Q&A session to engage directly with experts in the field.

About the DISRUPT Project: 

The DISRUPT project addresses the challenge of technology-facilitated trafficking in human beings (THB), particularly focusing on child trafficking for sexual purposes. It seeks to enhance the investigative and judicial response capabilities in this area by developing a comprehensive framework for using digital evidence. The project is designed to counteract the growing threat posed by trafficking through innovative approaches to digital evidence and collaboration among stakeholders.
