We are pleased to invite you to a webinar organised by the project DISRUPT, focused on “Recognising Signs of Child Trafficking for Sexual Purposes in the Classroom“. This event aims to equip educators and other interested stakeholders with the knowledge and tools to identify potential cases of child trafficking within educational settings.
The webinar will take place on Tuesday, 24 September 2024, from 17:00 to 18:30 CEST (18:00 to 19:30 EEST) online on Zoom. The link to the webinar will be received after completing the registration.
The webinar will begin with an introduction to the topic, providing an overview of the significance of recognising signs of child trafficking in educational environments. Following this, the main segment will cover critical areas including the risk factors that can lead to child trafficking victimisation, indicators that may suggest a child is in a trafficking situation, and the common methods used by traffickers. Attendees will also learn more on how to talk about human trafficking with children / adolescents. The event will conclude with a Q&A session, allowing participants to engage with experts and clarify any doubts or concerns.

About the DISRUPT Project:
Trafficking in Human Beings (THB) is one of the most lucrative crimes and a severe violation of fundamental rights with daunting consequences for all parties involved. Despite its prevalence, the identification of victims remains relatively low, often relying on testimonies as the main source of evidence. The rise of technology-facilitated THB poses an even higher threat to children, necessitating alternative approaches to dismantling such threats.
The DISRUPT project aims to enhance investigations, prosecutions, and judicial responses based on digital evidence in the area of child trafficking. This innovative project focuses on overcoming challenges related to technology-facilitated trafficking by developing a comprehensive framework for the effective use of digital evidence. This will improve the capabilities of digital-evidence-based investigations and judicial responses.
We encourage educators, school administrators, social workers, and all stakeholders interested in safeguarding children to participate in this event.

We look forward to your participation in this webinar!
