The NO-OBLIVION Consortium is thrilled to share with you the Call-4-Artists for the “Remembering through Art” online exhibition. This exhibition aims to showcase powerful artworks that delve into themes of memory, conflict, and justice, inspired by testimonies from the conflicts in the former Yugoslavia.
NO-OBLIVION “Promoting Universal Jurisdiction while Evoking the Crimes Committed within the Former Yugoslavia”, is dedicated to preserving and reflecting on the lessons learned from these conflicts. Through a range of activities, such as the “Remembering through Art” online exhibition, the project seeks to raise awareness among younger generations and enhance the capacities of legal professionals, ensuring that the atrocities of the past are not forgotten and continue to inform the pursuit of justice today.
We welcome European artists aged 18 and above, from one of the eligible countries, to submit up to five pieces in mediums such as painting, photography, poster art, or video. The deadline for submissions has been extended to 14th February 2025.
By joining this exhibition, artists will have the opportunity to showcase their work to a global audience through our immersive virtual gallery, gaining significant exposure while amplifying voices and stories and fostering a deeper understanding of complex historical and social issues.
To recognize and support exceptional submissions, prizes are planned for the best four selected art pieces. The first and second prize winners will be invited to participate in the Reviving Balkan Arts Festival this April in Croatia, with full coverage of travel, accommodation, and a subsistence allowance. This unique opportunity will allow artists to engage with an international audience and connect with participants from across Europe. Additionally, the third and fourth prize winners will each receive €100 as an acknowledgment of their artistic contributions.
