VSE Policy Update
The VSE Policy Team has been actively working with key EU institutions to shape the future of the Victims’ Rights Directive (VRD). Our team has had meaningful discussions with influential figures, including Commissioner Michael McGrath, Victims’ Rights Coordinator Katarzyna Janicka-Pawlowska, as well as Rapporteurs and Shadow-Rapporteurs on this critical issue.
Our efforts have been focused on advocating for balanced and effective solutions across several vital areas, including:
- Access to Support: Ensuring victims receive the help they need, when they need it.
- Access to Justice & Legal Remedies: Paving the way for a more just and fair system.
- Child Victims’ Rights & Barnahus: Safeguarding the most vulnerable in our society.
- Right to Compensation: Guaranteeing that victims are adequately compensated for their suffering.
We’re committed to making sure the revised directive truly reflects the needs and rights of victims across Europe.
