Implementing Victim-Oriented Reform of the criminal justice system in the European Union

This project, which runs from 2014 to 2016, will analyse and present victim assistance models in the EU Member States.

It will examine the coherence (internal and external) of victim support models and identify gaps in the implementation of victims’ rights. Through this analysis it will develop recommendations to promote the implementation of the European Directive establishing minimum standards on the rights, support and protection of victims of crime (Directive 2012/29/UE of October 25th 2012).

The project is promoted by the Portuguese Association of Victim Support in partnership with:

  • Victim Support Europe (VSE)
  • InterVICT (Netherlands)
  • University of Leuven (Belgium)

This project is co-financed by the European Commission under Criminal Justice Programme – Directorate-General for Justice.
