By November 19, 2015February 1st, 2021News

16 November 2015 – In the light of our awareness raising campaign around the implementation deadline of the EU Victims Directive, VSE has launched a Thunderclap. Through this crowdspeaking platform we invited organisations, individuals and politicians to join us and ‘RaiseTheirVoiceFor#VictimsRights’ through the following message:

75 million victims of crime in EU per year. EU Victims law must be implemented. Raise your voice for

The message was launched simultaneously on the facebook and twitter accounts of all 172 supporters. In this way our message was shared with 268, 018 people at once. The launch of the Thunderclap marked the implementation deadline of the Victims Directive, the moment from which citizens can invoke these rights directly before the national courts – even if the new rules are not correctly transposed into national law.
Through retweets and shares we reached over 300,000 people from all over the world. Together we are calling for implementation of EU law for all victims of crime.
Thank you very much for all those who supported the Thunderclap – together our voices are louder!
Please join us on Twitter @VictimSupportEU and Facebook on https://www.facebook.com/victimsupporteurope/?fref=ts!
