VSE Policy Update
On Tuesday, March 11th, the EU paused to honour the lives lost to terror, standing together in solidarity with survivors and their families. This year, Strasbourg had the privilege of hosting the 21st European Remembrance Day for Victims of Terrorism.
The Pavilion Josephine, nestled in the heart of one of Strasbourg’s most picturesque settings, was chosen as the gathering place to pay tribute to the victims, their loved ones, support organizations, and a host of dignitaries from both the EU and France.
Terrorism seeks to shatter our sense of security and challenge the values that unite us. It tries to disrupt our way of life, but the only true way forward is through unity and resilience.
VSE Deputy Director Aleksandra Ivankovic attended the ceremony on behalf of VSE, where she had the opportunity to reconnect with colleagues, victims, and families from across the EU, reaffirming the stark reminder: terrorism can affect any one of us, and it is only together that we can honour the fallen and rebuild stronger.
